Zone meetings this spring have been held in Powell River, French Creek, and Port McNeill. The next meeting will be held in False Creek June 3. These meetings have been well attended and disscussions have been lively. We are looking for ways to make the meetings more valuable to attendees by adding training opportunities or presentations. In French Creek a derrick maintainance session was added, Powell River hosted Coastal Watch, and False Creek will be joined by Environment Canada to work on Waste Oil Tank Emergency Response Training. The meeting at Port McNeill gave us the opportunity to meet with the new wharfingers in Sayward(Maurice) and Port Hardy(Jennifer and Dave). As always the true value in these meetings is for harbour managers, board members, HAABC and SCH staff to get together and share their experiences, expertise, and stories.
